He then began wrestling for the WWWF/WWF the following year, dedicating over 20 years of service to the WWF, adapting to various capacities as a reliable tag team wrestler and occasional contender to the WWWF/WWF and Intercontinental Titles. As the WWF expanded into the mainstream forum and newer, younger wrestlers were being brought into the company, loyal WWWF mainstays including Rodz, Tony Garea, Pedro Morales, Rene Goulet and Chief Jay Strongbow were re-positioned to enhancement talent. The purpose of these roles was to lose matches to new WWF stars helping to consolidate the new WWF era. Rodz was among many of the previous WWWF generation to retire from active competition and become a (then) WWF Road Agent.</p> <p>Johnny Rodz has dedicated the last 24 years of his life training wrestlers out of "The World's Famous" Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn, New York.
