This was the second semi-final round match that took place during the 2004 WXW Elite 8 Women’s tournament. This round featured the “Latina Sensation” Mercedes Martinez taking on Allison Danger. If you remember Danger was heavily favoring her arm after her first round match against Simply Luscious. Would that be a factor going into this match?
Sure enough Danger came to the ring with her right arm taped and bandaged up leaving only her left arm useful. She wanted to do well in this tournament so bad that she decided to wrestle injured and all. This gave a huge advantage to Martinez, and she wasted little time exploiting the injury. She quickly focused on Danger’s injured arm punching and kicking it. Danger fought back as much as she could and even got in a couple close pin attempts even with just one useful arm. Would she have enough drive and desire, despite her injury, to overcome the odds and defeat Martinez or would the “Latina Sensation” put an end to her dreams for the second year in a row?
