This was a semi-final round match in a tournament All Pro Wrestling held in the summer of 2002 to crown a new Universal Heavyweight Champion. It featured two former APW champions in Robert Thompson and the “Ice Pick” Vic Capri

Just before the match began, Thompson offered his had to Capri to shake to ensure a fair but tough match. Capri flat out refused and the Pacifica crowd sure let him know they didn’t appreciate it. As the match progressed, Thompson went to work on Capri’s arm. He twisted and bent it in ways he shouldn’t have been able to bend it. Capri took control briefly as he reversed a power bomb into a hurricanranna sending Thompson to the mat. “The Bomb” was able to fight back as an attempted Irish whip in to one of the corner turnbuckle became Thompson holding onto Capri’s arm and pulling Capri towards him and almost taking his head off with a devastating close line. Which of these two would move on to the next round and one step closer to the Universal Heavyweight Title?
