TJ Perkins
Hello wrestling fans, this week's ClickWrestler of the Week entrant is indy sensation TJ Perkins. TJ Perkins has had many brief touches of success over the years but with a highly praised dark match at a recent TNA Impact TV taping, TJ's greatest success is still on the horizon.
TJ got his start wrestling in Sothern California first working as Pinoy Boy. He wrestled locally in Sothern California, but it was when the Inoki Dojo opened TJ's career began to take off. He was in a training class that was also attended by Bryan Danielson (WWE's Daniel Bryan), Samoa Joe, Rocky Romero, and many other great Indy stars. It was there that New Japan Pro Wrestling gave TJ the masked gimmick known as Puma, to compete against their own Tiger Mask.
Under the guise as Puma, TJ began to gain some international exposure, competing in CMLL as well as NJPW. Puma also competed in TNA during their World X Cup, as had a recurring role on the short lived Wrestling Society X. TJ donned a new mask as Sydistiko on Lucha Libre USA, playing a much more gimmicked role than he had previously. Though his more known roles have been under a mask, he regularly competes without the mask as TJ Perkins, or TJP, which he used for Dragon Gate USA, ROH, and IGF.
TJ Perkins is one of the more layered wrestlers on the world. You can look at him and assume that he would be an athletic high flyer, but that would not be going deep enough. TJ's technical ability is one of the finest on the planet, not only does he execute flawless techniques, learned from his various travels around the world, but he executes them with unmatched speed. TJ is one of the fastest wrestlers in the world, and one can only hope that he will get to showcase that speed on national TV.
This week's staff pick of the week is a fantastic 4 way match featuring Austin Aries vs. JJ Perez vs. Puma vs. TARU. This match showcases the talents of all four men. Austin Aries was ROH Champion at the time, Puma walked in as the APW Internet Champion, JJ Perez had been hunting for that title for half a year, and TARU was the leader of All Japan Pro Wrestling's hottest stable at the time, The Voodoo Murders. Putting these four men into the same ring is a feat that is unprecedented. In this match be sure to check out the flawless techniques and speed from this week's ClickWrestler of the Week, TJ Perkins.
